Software people use.
Games people play.

I'm Dan Carreras, the developer behind Caesoose Studios. For over a decade I've shipped production systems: cloud infrastructure and CI/CD at scale, cross-platform apps for web, iOS, Android and desktop, and games on Steam. I take products from idea to app store, and I keep them running.

Tickbase.

A calm, full-featured to-do app and an alternative to Todoist, TickTick and Things. Everything is encrypted on your device before it syncs. No AI, and one flat price of $12 a year. I use it every day to run my own life and work.

Tickbase desktop app showing a shared list with natural-language quick add
Tickbase on iPad: Today view with tasks, a reading goal and habit streaks
Tickbase on iPhone turning a typed sentence into a dated, tagged, repeating task

Everything you'd expect

  • Natural-language quick add: "Call mum tomorrow 5pm #family every week"
  • Smart lists, saved filters, folders, tags and priorities
  • Calendar and schedule views, repeats and multiple reminders
  • Shared lists with assignees and comments

And more besides

  • Habit tracker, Pomodoro focus timer and countdowns
  • Eisenhower matrix, statistics and weekly, monthly and yearly reviews
  • Offline-first, with one-click export
  • One-minute import from TickTick

Under the hood

  • Encrypted on-device: every task, note and photo is encrypted on-device with AES-256 before upload, and the server only ever holds ciphertext. An optional zero-knowledge mode is available.
  • One TypeScript core shared by every client
  • Web (PWA), Mac, Windows and Linux via Tauri 2; iOS and Android via Expo
  • Cloudflare Workers, D1 and Hono sync API, tested in the real Workers runtime
  • Serverless edge backend that scales with no servers to manage

03 How I can help

From idea to in production

Hire me as an engineer on your team, or bring me a product to build. I'm comfortable owning the whole stack, and I'm happy working on one piece of it.

A

Cross-platform apps

Web, iOS, Android and desktop from a single TypeScript codebase: React, Expo and Tauri, through to App Store and Play release.

B

Cloud & DevOps

CI/CD, cloud migrations, cost optimisation and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Bicep) on Azure, Cloudflare and Railway. Ten years of keeping production healthy.

C

Backends & APIs

Postgres, Supabase, Workers + D1, FastAPI and Node, plus auth, sync, payments and licensing built in from the start.

D

Security & IT operations

Incident response, ransomware clean-up, fleet-wide hardening and backup policy. Most recently across 250+ machines for a distribution company.

E

Quality & documentation

QA leadership, test automation, release processes, and documentation that support teams and new starters actually use.

F

Games & interactive

Unity and C# from prototype to Steam: gameplay, tooling, build pipelines and store launch.
